Welcome to ECC in Swindon

Pastor Steve and the church leadership welcome you to Elim Christian Centre.  We are a lively Pentecostal church in the centre of Swindon dedicated to our mission of loving God, loving each other, and loving the lost. We are committed to building a mission community shaped by ‘Word and Spirit’, which is equipped to bear witness to Christ in a broken world.

In light of the Prime Minister’s conference and in keeping with the guidelines that were made about Conoravirus, Elim HQ has decided to suspend ALL services until further notice, which includes our church. This is not a decision that has been taken lightly but it to protect the community and congregation. Thank you for understanding.

PS Steve shall still be encouraging us via online teaching. All of the sermons shall be available on our youtube channel Elim Christian Centre – Swindon

At Elim Christian Centre, we have been very creative during this lockdown period. With the help of Rupert and some friends we have written a new song for our Virtual Choir. We hope this will bless you all. Welcome to…SING A NEW SONG TO THE LORD! Be inspired to do something different. 😀

Pastor’s verses for demanding times

(It may be worth focusing/studying/ praying over..1 a day…as there is a lot there (but not necessarily in this order):

1. Worried?
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:4-7

2. In a State of Panic?
No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no human mind has conceived, the things God has prepared for those who love him. 1 Corinthians 2:9

3. Running on Empty?
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. Psalm 23:1

4. Uncertain?
Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let  the righteous be shaken.
Psalm 55:22

5. Overwhelmed?
I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.
Philippians 4:13

6. Confused?
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
James 1:5

7. Feeling all alone?
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
Matthew 6:26

8. Lacking Confidence?
But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit. Jeremiah 17:7-8

9. Feeling unwell?
Simon’s mother-in-law was in bed with a fever, and they immediately told Jesus about her. So he went to her, took her hand and helped her up. The fever left her and she began to wait on them. Mark 1:30-31

10. Despondent?
I have seen you in the sanctuary
and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live and in your name I will lift up my hands.  Psalm 63:2-4

11. Isolated ?
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,  neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

12. Struggling to cope?
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.’
Joshua 1:9

13. Desperate?
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Roman 15:13

14. Stressed?
He says, ‘Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.’. Psalm 46:10

15. Hungry?
Then Jesus declared: “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”. John 6:48

16. Worn Out?
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Isaiah 40:28-29

17. Disillusioned?
I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices, my body also will rest secure, because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay. You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. Psalm 16:8-11

18. Unsettled?
Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.
1 Corinthians 16:13

19. Fearful?
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10

20. Burdened?
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Matthew 11: 28-29
